Jeffrey Nealon

Jeffrey Nealon has have published widely on contemporary literary and cultural theory, in journals including Critical Inquiry, Cultural Critique, PMLA, Modern Fiction Studies, SAQ, and Postmodern Culture. He is author of Double Reading:  Postmodernism after Deconstruction (Cornell 1993), Alterity Politics:  Ethics and Performative Subjectivity (Duke 1998), and The Theory Toolbox (with Susan Searls Giroux, Rowman & Littlefield 2003), as well as co-editor of Rethinking the Frankfurt School (with Caren Irr, SUNY 2002). My latest books, both from Stanford University Press, are Foucault Beyond Foucault:  Power and Its Intensifications since 1984 (2008), and Post-Postmodernism; or, the Cultural Logic of Just-In-Time Capitalism (2012). He has just finished a book (forthcoming from Stanford) about biopower and vegetable life in Foucault, Derrida, and Deleuze & Guattari; it’s called Plant Theory.
